EY hosted a remarkable event with British polar explorer Felicity Aston, MBE
In the beginning of 2019, EY Bulgaria packed a special New Year present for all clients and friends of the firm – a winter tale of courage, endurance and polar adventure, personally told by the British polar explorer Felicity Aston.
By tradition and now for the fifth consecutive year, EY Bulgaria organizes special evenings with remarkable people from across the world aiming to provide some food for thought and inspiration to all EY community in Bulgaria.
Mrs. Felicity Aston is a polar explorer, author, speaker, expedition leader and a former Antarctic scientist. What is by far her biggest achievement is that in 2012 she became the first woman to ski alone across Antarctica. It was a journey of 1744 km that took 59 days to complete and which gave her a place in the book of Guinness World Records.
Felicity is also an established freelance writer who is willing to share her experience in some of the coldest places in the world. Making reference to the final words in one of her books, Felicity has implied that we are all "infinitely braver and more resilient" than we could ever imagine and the only boundaries we set, we set ourselves. Another opinion of the British polar explorer that provokes people's thinking is her positive attitude to everything she is doing "When you are feeling down, when you are feeling like everything is going wrong, remember than tomorrow it will be better. It won't be perfect but it will be better than today!" Have a look at Felicity Aston’s interview with the Bulgarian TV Show “Panorama”.
Felicity Aston's speech about courage and determination ended with a call to everyone in the hall: "Get out of the tent!" when you feel weak, when the moment is the hardest, just get out of it, never give up and push your limits.
