Leading technology associations awarded the best in hi-tech industry

Burgas has a special award for dynamically development city of the year
June 17 2017, Burgas: At official ceremony on 16th of June in Grand Hotel Primoretz, Burgas, Bulgarian Outsorcing Association (BOА) and Bulgarian association of software companies (BASSCOM) have rewarded the efforts and achievements of Bulgarian companies in the outsourcing and IT sector, investors and local authorities. In the second edition of Innovations, Technology & Sourcing Awards were honored the success, business development and leadership in 10 categories - 4 key for the technology sector and 2 - uniting the efforts of affiliated businesses, local authorities and universities.
"Bringing BOA and BASSCOM together to the awards is a positive precedent which proves that when you work in synergy you achieve sustainable results. Our joint efforts have contributed and will continue to contribute for building Bulgaria as a leading outsourcing and technology destination. This year's awards in Burgas are a bright example of a good partnership between the BOA and the municipality for the development of the outsourcing sector in Bulgaria", said Stanimir Nikolov, chairman of BOA.
The International jury of Innovation, Technology & Sourcing Awards has awarded Bulpros with Outsourcing Service Provider of the Year. Second place in the prestigious category grabbed Sutherland, and the third - Telus International.
The award Software Company of the Year was given to Programista. Second place was conquered by SoftServe. After a contested race, third place is for EPAM and Accedia.
An interesting fact is that a number of outsourcing companies have submitted applications at prima facie in IT categories such as "IT Project of the Year" and "IT Product of the Year". The winners in the respective categories are Lirex and coBuilder. Second place for an IT project was given to Bulpros, a third to Upnetix and Code Runners. The second prize in the IT product of the year was awarded to Experian, and Code Runners stands behind it.
Technology Employer of the Year is Scale Focus, second and third respectively are Programista and Experian.
The most innovative technology company for 2016 is Bulpros. Sutherland was awarded second and SoftServe third.
Sirma Medical Systems was named "Startup Company of the Year". The second place was assigned to HeleCloud, and the third was Cargill.
The Center for Shared Services of the Year in the second edition of the Bulgarian hi-tech awards has become Cargill.
In the category, which pays special attention to one of the main factors for development of technological sector - the partnership and the provision of the best conditions for growth in the sector - was awarded Sofia. For Technology City of the Year voted members of BOA and BASSCOM, uniting more than 120 leading hi-tech companies. For the second consecutive year Burgas won a special prize. At the official Innovations, Technology & Sourcing Awards ceremony, Burgas was named Most Dynamically Developing Technology City of the Year.
"I am proud that this year Burgas hosts the most important event for the technological sector. The whole team of the municipality works for the development of the city and the creation of good conditions. We have set up a public IT development and outsourcing industry council whose primary task is to provide the necessary information and assist potential investors, including the provision of qualified staff. Burgas offers all the necessary conditions for the development of the industry - human resource, office space, good location, developed infrastructure and administration that work side by side with business and universities," said Dimitar Nikolov, Mayor of Burgas.
Varna won the special award "Technological City with Highest Growth Potential in the Sector".
The qualitative and business-compliant buildings in the sector were awarded in the category Technological Business Building of the Year and the award was given to Sofia Airport Center. The second is Smart Center of Planex and the third - European Trade Center.
Bulgaria continues its dynamic development as a country offering conditions for the development of outsourcing and IT industries, which is directly related to the high qualification of the employees in the sectors and the long-term vision of the companies that are already imposing trends on the global market, not just following established practices. The proof is that Bulgaria has won the European Outsourcing Association's (EOA ) award for Outsourcing Destination for 2015.
